Off the Eaten Track is a home grown food show that features well-known local Executive Chef, Alastair McLeod. This journey though Queensland's backyard profiles both the quality and diversity of our food.

Some, like beef and spanner crabs, are iconic but there's also an incredible array of lesser-known produce on display. Queensland bred and grown AusJubilee pineapples, tea, bananas, vegetables, macadamia nuts, exotic fruit, eggs, beer, and artisan bread make for one incredible spread.

Channel Seven's Off the Eaten Track will commence its second series in December 2011 on Saturdays at 7pm.

In Series 1, Alastair shared his enthusiasm for the parochial and explored the Sunshine State from the tropics to the outback, and this time it's no different. He shares the stories of passionate graziers, growers and fishers and showcases the diversity of their produce.

Whether it's with a menu of Queensland mud crabs and mangoes, or exotic avocado ice cream, perhaps even some Australian desert limes, Off the Eaten Track tantalizes the taste buds.

Atherton Tableland coffee, Chinchilla murray cod, Rockhampton beef, Hervey Bay scallops, exotic achachas from Ayr and buffalo mozzarella from Cairns make for one delicious intrastate feast. This food journey also features local wineries and breweries and suggests how to their signature drops should be matched with Queensland cuisine.

Off the Eaten Track is brought to you by TPD Media (producers of Channel Seven's highly successful The Great South East, Queensland Weekender and Creek to Coast programs) in partnership with the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation.
